After pioneering in the field of education in regular Interior Design IID is now offering this program through correspondence. The syllabus has been made in a manner that after completing this certificate course, students will have a good idea about the Interior Design profession. They will be able to take up projects, whether design or execution.

Job Opportunities: This course in Interior Design provides a good level of competence in the area of analysis, design, construction, services, costing, implementation and supervision of Interior Design Projects and train Student to handle small projects or work as assistant Designers as well.

Certificate Course in Interior Design

Course Contents compulsory for all modules:

1.       Art and Graphics
Learning 2D drawing/drafting techniques

2.       Principles of Interior Design
Color and Spaces etc.

3.       Design Project
Choice of three modules

4.       Material Sciences and Applications

5.       Building Construction
Stair cases, door windows, walls, flooring, partitions, ceilings etc.

6.       Building Services
Electrical, Plumbing and Air-conditioning etc.

7.       History of Art and Furniture  

8.       Basic Estimation 

Eligibility: 10+2.

Course Duration:

1 One Project 6- Months This module will have interiors of a residence comprising of Kitchen, Bathroom, Bedroom Drawing room and Dining room spaces etc.
2 Two Projects 9- Months Besides module one this module will also have interiors of a corporate office space.
3 Three Projects 12- Months Besides module one and two this module will also have interiors of a restaurant or showroom space.

Course Procedure: 1st set of lessons would be sent immediately after the receipt of admission fee. The lessons would be sent through registered post or courier. Students would be required to solve the questionnaire and send it back as submission along with the next installment of the fee. Next set of lessons would be sent only on receipt of the previous set of solved papers (submissions) and the installment. The schedule of dates would be sent along with the first set. The course modules should be completed within stipulated time. But in special cases an extension for a maximum period of six months could be granted for all modules. There would be no scope of further relaxation in this regard.
